Candidates must have a Bachelor’s degree with certification in English, with two or more years of experience in High School or Middle School English preferred. Responsibilities will include teaching Language Arts: reading/writing/speaking/listening – the Ontario curriculum. The school is looking for a team player who demonstrates a willingness to plan with colleagues, knowledge of Readers’ Workshop, good classroom management skills, and the ability to incorporate technology in classroom instruction. Candidates should have an understanding and appreciation of the uniqueness of the student. Experience in teaching the Writing Process and/or willingness to be trained (on site) in 6+1 Writing Traits is an asset.
