Job Description:

Camelot Education, a leader in providing special education services, is recruiting creative, compassionate and caring individuals to join our team. We are seeking a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) for our campus in Bourbonnais, IL. *Please note- this campus will be relocating in August 2019 to Custer Park, IL*

This program serves students PreK-22 and provides quality academic and therapeutic services to students with SED/BD/LD as well as a program for students with Developmental Disabilities including Autism. Students are supported by a team of professionals that include School Administrators, Special Education Teachers and Paraprofessionals, Therapist and Related Service Providers.

The COTA will recommend appropriate occupational therapy interventions for students under the supervision of the OT based on individual student needs. This position will also be responsible for incorporating these OT strategies into the students' daily routine and training staff on administering a sensory diet that has been created by the OT when necessary.

Experience and Skills:

Education, experience and role qualifications for this position include:
  • Current Illinois Licensed Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant
  • Experience working with adolescents and children preferred
  • Experience working with student with autism or on the autism spectrum preferred
  • Experience working in non-public school programs preferred
  • General Computer skills and proven ability and working knowledge with Microsoft software applications, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Strong interpersonal skills and supervisory skills preferred
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and/or confidential information
  • Capable of leading meetings and preparing reports and/or planning documents
