Destinations Career Academy Summer Experience and Job Shadow Week 2019

The Destinations Career Academy Summer Experience (DCASE) and Job Shadow Week (JSW) Program is designed to provide career development during the summer of 2019 for rising junior and senior high school students. This three-week program will be offered July 8-26th and held in four locations- Charleston, South Carolina; Gary/Indianapolis, Indiana and the Washington, DC-metro area. The DCASE exposes high school students to the world of work and skills, the training and connections they need for not only their jobs but for a fulfilling, long-term and financially stable career.

K12 Career Readiness Education department seeks to hire a trustworthy, take-charge individual to join our growing business as a Site Coordiator. The role of Site Coordinator has broad responsibilities, from managing facilities, overseeing projects, while maintaining safety protocols and implementing site procedures. Our ideal candidate is experienced, responsible, and team-focused.

Period of Employment: This is a full time temporary position: July 1 - July 29, 2019 (Off July 4 and 5th). We are looking to fill this position at 4 locations; Gary, IND, Indianapolis, IND, Washington DC Metro and Charleston, South Carolina. This is NOT a virtual position. You will report to a site in these cities. AS A Site Coordinator, YOU WILL..
    • Oversee day to day operations of the facility site
    • Manage food and beverage with vendor
    • Manage scheduled transportation with vendor
    • Handle emergencies appropriately according to established procedures; prepare and file accident reports
    • Supervise students, complete reports and/or updates; provide positive direction to motivate quality performance;
    • Oversee projects to completion
    • Handle sensitive information with confidentiality

Requirements
Minimum Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent qualification
  • Project management certification or relevant field is preferred.
  • Prior experience in management of events
  • Excellent written and spoken communication skills
  • Exemplary analytic problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Proven leadership skills with a large diverse workforce
