Human Resource Onboarding/Off-boarding Specialist - Long-term temp to permanent 
KIPP New Jersey is looking for a dedicated human resource coordinator to join our Human Resource team in a long-term temporary assignment, with the possibility of becoming a permanent TEAM member. The candidate will be responsible for providing administrative support to the human resource function as needed, including record keeping, employee personnel file management, HRIS portal administration and overseeing the onboarding and off-boarding process for our network. The human resource coordinator will address employee inquiries and concerns, troubleshoot problems and work collaboratively with the human resource team to ensure data integrity and human resource functions are running smoothly.

Here's what you'll be doing:
Joining our Human Resource team as a human resource coordinator comes with a lot of growth opportunities, but with great power comes great responsibility. Here are a few for this position:
 
  • Communicate and serve as the point person for all newly hired employees through the completion of the employee onboarding process
  • Serve as the primary HR TEAMmate supporting our employees with general inquiries and assistance
  • Ensures compliance with USCIS Form I-9 Employment Eligibility Verification; periodically audits Forms I-9.
  • Provide off-boarding support to all employees transitioning away from our organization
  • Provide daily support with updating and tracking summer, mid-year and emergent hires
  • Approve all new job requisitions and offer letter requests after thorough review for accuracy and completeness
  • Work closely together with the human resource team to provide a yearly new staff orientation to all summer hires and develop and implement a mid-year and emergent hire new staff orientation experience
  • Maintain human resource information system records and compiles reports from database, as needed; ensure accuracy and maintain employee personnel files - electronically and paper  
  • Processes and completes unemployment documentation on a timely basis; works with human resource manager and employee relations team as needed
  • Work with the benefits specialist to make sure all new hires are enrolled in the correct benefit plans
  • Provide support with completing employment verification inquiries in a timely and accurate manner
  • Establish and maintain up-to-date human resource functional departmental documentation, standard operating procedures, as well as a comprehensive reports library
  • Solicit feedback and identify overall needs and areas of improvement of HRIS; prepare and distribute timely and appropriate HRIS communications. Serve as lead resource for new HRIS release updates and training specific to the HR team
  • Manage and maintain the human resource section of the network's intranet site. Seek out new opportunities to promote departmental resources
  • Support the entire human resource team with completing internal audits and assist on external audits as needed
  • Complete special projects as requested
  • Support the overall day-to-day operations of human resource team 
Must Haves
  • 2-3 years of related human resource experience
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to multitask, work collaboratively and maintain focus in a fast-paced environment
  • Highly effective communication skills
  • Maintains high standards of confidentiality of all employee records and information  
Nice to Have
  • Bachelor's degree in related human resource area of study
  • Experience in NJ school system
  • Experience working with Ceridian/Dayforce
