The Transportation Supervisor supports the Special Education department and coordinates bus schedules for all schools, interacts closely with principals, vice principals, information processors, and S.T.A.R.S. office personnel to establish and maintain proper and updated transportation information for all students riding school buses daily.

Qualifications:
Bachelors' degree required with previous experience in transportation. Previous school district and administrative experience.

Essential Job Functions:
1. Transportation Supervisor sets up transportation routes for students and stores routes and pupil transportation information on the computer.
2. Transportation Supervisor sets up routes transporting students via contracted carriers and students via Port Authority of Allegheny County.
3. Transportation Supervisor established bus hook-ups to fully utilize the capacity of buses.
4. Transportation Supervisor works with contracted carriers, dispatchers, safety personnel and drivers regarding the daily operation.
5. Transportation Supervisor monitors vehicles to make sure proper procedure is used with students.
6. Transportation Supervisor maintains surveillance of vehicles throughout the school year to ensure routes are running as per contract.
7. Transportation Supervisor assists in directing many activities within the school district.

Additional Job Information:
This position is primarily sedentary in nature. Employee will be required to operate computer system for data entry, and have the ability to complete necessary paperwork. This position requires minimum physical effort and not subjected to Occupational Health and Safety risks.
