General Description & Goals
The Climate, Culture & Development Coordinator plays a critical role in the support of improving student performance and school programs at BLA.

The CCD Coordinator ensures our school maintains a positive and safe learning environment. The Coordinator will work with an experienced faculty in a setting that blends strong academics and socio-emotional support to provide students the opportunity to maximize their learning potential for career and college readiness. The CCD Coordinator will also by supporting fundraising programs and initiatives.The Coordinator should be a professional who is committed to working with all students, understands the lives of young adults and has a track record of working successfully with students from diverse backgrounds. The Coordinator should be an effective communicator and able to successfully interact with students, faculty and families.

Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with school leadership and discipline team to create and manage a safe and welcoming learning environment, implementing culturally proficient best practices to ensure that all are welcomed, included and encouraged to succeed.
  • Analyze, track and report behavioral data to monitor the social-emotional development of students and guide and support the creation of interventions.
  • Support all aspects of the development office, including fundraising, event planning, alumni relations, current development programs, etc.
  • Support research, cultivation and solicitation of donors and initiatives with a special emphasis on pursuing strategies to secure or increase giving from donors.
  • Strengthen and engage families as partners in planning, and problem solving.
  • Coordinate positive programs for students and support the improvement of student outcomes.
  • Build a culture of collaboration, achievement and respect among all members of the school community, such as families and community, students and school, network and district staff
  • Contribute to the overall operations of the school.
  • Carry out all general duties as assigned by the Headmaster.


Required Qualifications
  • Minimum of three years professional experience working with students in an urban setting.
  • The ability to connect to and work with students using a variety of methods while always maintaining a respectful and caring manner.
  • Ability to use data management, organizational and technological tools and programs
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to work with and motivate a diverse set of stakeholders, including school staff, students, families and community agencies toward a common goal.
  • At least one years of relevant experience in a development-related role in an educational environment.
  • Willingness to be part of a collaborative environment and work closely with colleagues and parents.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, verbally and in writing.
  • Energy, enthusiasm, patience, a positive attitude and a sense of humor
  • Candidates must have current authorization to work in the United States by their first day of employment.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent. Master's degree preferred.
  • Current authorization to work in the United States - Candidates must have such authorization by their first day of employment
  • Boston Residency Requirement

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in social work, psychology, child development, counseling education or related field
  • Experience in fundraising and marketing
  • Multilingual (a strong plus, particularly fluent and literate in Spanish, Haitian Creole, Cantonese and/or Vietnamese)

Terms:
The School Climate, Culture & Development Coordinator is a Managerial Tier B position. The hours to be set will be dependant on the school and student needs.

Note:
School-based Managerial employees will work 223 days each year. The 223 day work-year will include the 180 days in which school is in session, and the additional days will be determined by the employee and the principal or headmaster of the school.

School-based Managerial employees are not eligible for vacation time or compensatory time. In the event of school cancellation due to snow or inclement weather, school-based Managerial employees need not report to work.
