Lake Forest School District 67 is seeking a full-time Math Teacher / Reading Specialist at Deer Path Middle School.
Descriptions:
Math Teacher: The Math Teacher demonstrates an understanding of current best practices, knowledge of grade level standards, and passion for teaching and learning. The teacher is responsible for helping students learn subject matter and skills and also works to strengthen their habits of mind. The teacher strives to differentiate instruction based on learning needs, learning preferences, and student interest. Finally, the teacher possesses the ability to work, communicate and collaborate effectively with students, staff, and parents.
Reading Specialist: The Reading Specialist is responsible for planning, assessing, differentiating, and delivering targeted reading instruction to students, monitoring student progress, and collaborating closely with classroom teachers. The Reading Specialist demonstrates a passion for reading and coaches colleagues within the building, strengthening their skills to help all students grow and achieve in this area.
