Qualifications:
Any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from high school, plus six years of progressive experience in the commercial roofing trades, minimum of three years at the lead level involving review and inspection activities with construction and modification of various roofing project types. Thorough knowledge of the materials, methods, practices, and procedures used in the construction, modification, or maintenance roofing systems of buildings, schools, and related structures; knowledge of the general construction field and one or more of the trades involved in the building construction projects; good knowledge of related drawings, general construction surveying, and cost estimating; ability to read and interpret blueprints, plans, specifications, applicable building codes, and regulations, and recognize deviations from such requirements; sufficient visual-acuity to detect faults (poor construction, improper materials, etc.) at times in poorly-lit areas; ability to interface effectively with contractors, architects, craftsmen, and the general public; ability to maintain accurate records and to prepare complete and concise written reports; strength and dexterity necessary to perform all required tasks, including lifting, stooping, bending, working in tiring uncomfortable positions, and from ladders, scaffolds, and roofs. Valid driver's license with good driving record. May be required to work an evening and/or night shift on a regular or rotating basis.
