Elementary School Principal needed in Dubai for a US Curriculum school.

This new American curriculum school located in Dubai is preparing for its second year of operation. Enrollment growth requires a suitably experienced Elementary School Principal to join the team for August 2019. The school"s trustees envision a learning community that embraces a future-oriented learning community that develops an innovative approach to learning in a 21st century environment. An experienced US curriculum Principal is needed to make this vision into a reality.

Salary/Package (note: this package is not suitable for leaders with dependant children


• Net salary: 18,400 AED per month.

• No income tax or deductions from monthly net salary.

• Housing allowance paid as lump sum (71,500 AED).

• One time settling and moving allowance (2,000 AED).

• Joining flights from home of record [Economy class] for self upon commencement of contract.

• Departure flights to home of record [Economy class] upon completion of contract for self.

• Annual flights from to home of record [Economy class] for self taken once during annual leave.

• Medical insurance for use within UAE for self.

• Visa processing costs (excluding document certification).

• 2 year employment contract with renewal option.

• Final End of Service Settlement calculated in accordance with UAE Labour Law.

• 45 days calendar leave per 12 month period (taken during school leave periods).

Qualifications and experience requirements for the Elementary School Principal:

- Candidates must currently be employed in a US accredited school offering the Common Core State Standards with preference given to the New York State.
- The candidate will be US citizens and mother-tongue English speaker.
- Candidates must hold valid US teacher certification and/or School Leader (SBL) certification with preference given to New York State certification.
- Minimum 2 years of post-qualification/post-certification, relevant US teaching experience in a Common Core State Standards school (preferably in New York State).
- Experience of at least 1 year in educational leadership in Common Core State Standards accredited US schools (preferably located in New York State), where the candidate has held similar positions to that sought e.g., vice Director, principal, vice principal, curriculum coordinator, head of section(s), or department chair.
- An advanced (post-graduate) university degree/diploma/qualification in educational matters (or the equivalent thereof), or evidence he/she is working towards obtaining such a degree from a recognised institution.

The school offers an American education experience eventually leading to a High School Diploma for international and Emirati students. The school curriculum is designed to align to the New York State Learning Standards which includes the New York State P-12 Common Core Learning Standards. The school will initially cater for over 500 students from KG to Grade 5.
