Responsibilities
- Delivers content, concepts, skills, and assessments, as designated within the Greenwich Public Schools Family & Consumer Science curriculum.
- Adapts Family & Consumer Science material and methods to develop relevant sequential assignments and lesson plans that inform, guide and challenge students.
- Develops lesson plans and supplementary materials compatible with the department's philosophy and aligned with course standards; provides individualized and small group instruction in order to adapt the curriculum to the needs of each student.
- Evaluates academic and social growth of students, prepares report cards, keeps appropriate records to include attendance reports, inventory checklists, and other record keeping activities as necessary.
- Encourages students to think independently and to express original ideas.
- Evaluates each student's progress in meeting the course standards for Family & Consumer Science concepts and skills.
- Establishes and maintains standards of student behavior needed to provide an effective and productive classroom environment.
- Communicates with parents and school counselors on student progress.
- Participates in faculty obligations and the sponsorship of student activities.
- Models non-discriminatory practices in all activities

Qualifications
- Graduated from Accredited University
- CT Certification is required (045)
- Strong communication skills orally and in writing
