Position Summary
- Greenwich CT Public Schools is seeking a certified and experienced ASL teacher who will be responsible for teaching ASL Levels 1, 3 & 4 at Greenwich High School.
- Fluency in English and American Sign Language required.
- Professional experience in ASL instruction and/or working with the hearing impaired preferred.
- Plan and organize instruction in ways that maximize student learning
- Employ appropriate teaching and learning strategies to communicate subject matter to students
- Modify where appropriate instructional methods and strategies to meet the diverse needs of students
- Learn and use technology to enhance teaching where appropriate
- Evaluate student performance consistently
- Maintain accurate records of student progress
Work year is 187 days, salary based on appropriate GEA salary level.
Qualifications:
- Graduation from accredited college or university.
- PreK - 12 Hearing Impaired CT certification or credits earned toward this certification also preferred.
- Ability to personalize learning in a blended learning environment.
- Knowledge of best practices in instruction.
- Strong communication skills
