The Winnetka District 36 School District seeks a principal for the Carleton W Washburne School beginning on July 1, 2019. Carleton W Washburne School is a grade 7-8 school with a student population of approximately 400. This is an eleven-month position with a highly competitive salary and benefit package.

Winnetka School District 36 is a prestigious school district located in the highly desirable North Shore area of suburban Chicago. It has been acknowledged for its focus on the "whole child" as well as for an extensive offering of programs and extracurricular activities for its student population. District 36 nurtures a unique environment known for its progressive educational philosophy, small class size, student-centered focus, and positive culture. Students matriculating from the Winnetka schools attend the highly regarded New Trier High School.

This exciting and unique opportunity will afford the career minded professional a chance to work with a collegial administrative team as a part of a collaborative leadership model. The new principal will have the opportunity to undertake numerous experiences in all phases of school and district leadership. It is therefore anticipated and expected that this will be a highly competitive search.

The ideal candidate will have a strong record of accomplishment as an instructional leader, outstanding communication skills, a collaborative philosophy, a firm understanding of adolescence, and the ability to involve all stakeholders in the continuing process of positive growth and change.
