One role is in Nursery with ages 3-4, and the other is in Kindergarten with ages 5-6. They really want one role to be filled by someone highly experienced in PYP who is going to hit the ground running and support other staff. The other role they would like to fill with someone who is currently in a Kindergarten role. The Kindergarten campus was established in 2014 and is now a successful IB school. There is also an Elementary Section which opened in 2016 and is a candidate school for the IB PYP. The schools offer an inquiry-based, bi-lingual (Mandarin/English) education to local and international students.

Candidates must be a native-level English speaker with relevant teaching experience. Candidates will be required to register as an overseas teacher working in China and will need to meet the qualification requirements of a B.A / B.Ed, a PGCE/PGDE or educational qualifications at a similar or higher level. Experience working with children who are learning English as a second language will be a significant advantage as the majority of children in the school are EAL learners. Teachers are also supported by a bilingual teaching assistant as well as a Chinese helper. The schools value staff who are flexible and willing to support an inquiry-based, collaborative curriculum.

Guangzhou is the largest city and the capital city of the Guangdong province and the third largest city in China. The city is located on the Pearl River, about 120 km north-west of Hong Kong. Guangzhou has a humid subtropical climate and summers are hot and wet and winters are relatively mild and dry. The city has developed a cosmopolitan appearance with new shopping plazas, high rise buildings, a modern metro system and landscaped parks and road sides. It's a busy, lively city but parts of the cities have charm with restored churches, buildings and private residences. Having a major airport and being so close to Hong Kong opens up a world of travel opportunities from short weekend trips to longer treks around Asia in the holidays. Guangzhou really is the perfect place to base yourself in Asia!
