Position Summary:

We are seeking inspired and dynamic educators to join our career and technical education program in its founding year at Simon Gratz High School. Whether you are starting your teaching career or are looking to launch a new chapter, your passion and industry experience will be deeply valued and your opportunities for growth and impact will be limitless. As a Mastery team member, you will be trusted to make decisions and held accountable for critical results. You will also have the opportunity to help drive the vision for our CTE program and set students on the path to career-ready success after they graduate.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Develop rigorous and appropriate lesson plans, assignments, and assessments aligned to the Pennsylvania Department of Education's CTE Task List

Maintain consistent classroom routines and procedures, while also supporting individualized student learning

Prepare students to succeed on yearly certification exams such as CPR Certification

Collaborate with other CTE instructors to discuss student work, share best practices, plan events, and ensure student mastery of standards

Work closely with school leaders to analyze student growth & progress and use data to inform instruction

Engage families in their children's education by building relationships and maintaining regular communication

Commit to ongoing professional development in the spirit of continuous improvement

Qualifications:

Genuine interest, belief, and care for students' personal and academic success

The ability to motivate, support, and challenge students in a student-centered, standards-driven classroom community

Commitment to professional growth, self-reflection, receptiveness to feedback, and a desire to continuously improve

A positive mindset and a drive for personal excellence

A strong sense of professional responsibility as well as personal accountability for student achievement

Solutions-oriented resiliency to respond positively and effectively to challenges

Outstanding instructional skills driven by data and delivered through rigorous and engaging strategies

Education and Experience:

One of the following qualifications- Bachelors in Nursing with a certification as an RN, Bachelors in Medical Technology or a related field, or currently certified as a chiropractor, occupational therapist, optometrist, pharmacist, physical therapist, podiatrist, or psychologist

CTE Teacher certification- completed or in process- must enroll in program within first year

Commitment to and experience working with underserved communities

Determination to drive student achievement and set high expectations for all students

Demonstrated industry experience in the area of health technology

Physical Requirements:

Ability to physically perform the duties and to work in the environmental conditions required such as maneuvering in classrooms including standing, walking, sitting for long periods of time, speak loudly and clearly, seeing and hearing things both near and far away, stooping, kneeling, fine finger and hand manipulation in use of a computer, chalkboard, dry erase board or projector.
