This position provides program support to Global Studies ( includes World Languages, Social Studies and Study Abroad programs) curriculum and instructional programs through design, implementation and management of projects. Works collaboratively with administrators, school-based staff and community partners to develop and implement quality programs that support teachers and supplement regular academic programs. Works with grant programs and budget. Coordinates and leads content-area meetings, workshops and presentations.

Elementary Social Studies Focus
- work with cross functional teams to ensure elementary (K-5) social studies curriculum is aligned to district vision and strategic plan
- work closely and in conjunction with the elementary literacy, science, and math department specialists to provide a comprehensive solution to K-5 teachers
- build and support external partnerships that support social studies within the district
- conduct regular reviews to ensure K-5 social studies curriculum align to the standard course of study
- develop capacity by building and supporting professional learning opportunities for K-5 social studies teachers
- communicate with schools to support coaching, planning, and quality teaching of K-5 social studies content
- attend all academic division meetings and trainings
- communicate regularly with elementary level stakeholders
- manage resource inventory that support professional learning and teaching for K-5 social studies
- manage adoption of curriculum materials
- keep informed of and communicate if necessary related legislative updates
