The Academic Administrator directs and coordinates the educational, administrative and counseling activities of middle and high school students by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors.
AS Academic Administrator, YOU WILL...
- Ensure conformance of educational programs to federal, State and local school board standards through evaluation, development and coordination activities; As needed, researches and implements non-K12 curriculum resources that meet State standards;
- Manage teaching staff; Manages Master and Lead Teachers and programs;
- Help articulate the school's mission and vision with the aim of ensuring all stakeholders have a common understanding and are positioned to work cooperatively in order to achieve desired results; Utilizes/relies heavily upon communication technologies and practices that most effectively support a predominantly virtual / remote work environment;
- Confer with teachers, students, and parents concerning educational and behavioral problems in school; Coordinate with teacher and K12 Enrollment regarding expulsions and withdrawals;
- Ensure that the school is meeting the needs of students while complying with local, State , and federal laws regarding special education;
- Develop and oversees implementation of the school's Comprehensive Continuous Improvement Plan.
- Complete informal walkthroughs and formal observations of instruction following the Ohio Teacher Evaluation (OTES) model.
- Develop and oversee a professional development plan that address school-wide and individual teacher needs
- Lead data team meetings
- Requisition and allocate supplies, equipment, and instructional material as needed;
- Actively participate in all school leadership team meetings.

- Directly supervises on average 30+ teachers; may supervise considerably more depending on size/growth of school. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems

Requirements
Minimum Qualifications
- Master's degree in Education Administration or similar field of study AND
- Five (5) years of relevant experience OR
- Equivalent combination of education and experience
- Strong communication skills: written, oral, presentation
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Ability to pass required background check
- Familiarity with online learning programs
- Familiarity with student management systems
- Familiarity with State graduation requirements
- Familiarity with post-secondary opportunities
