Pennsylvania School Study Council Executive Director/Professor of Practice in Educational Leadership


The Department of Education Policy Studies is seeking to hire an entrepreneurial leader to serve as Professor of Practice in Educational Leadership and Executive Director of the Pennsylvania School Study Council (PSSC). This is a non-tenure track fixed-term faculty position funded for three years from the date of hire, with possibility of refunding. The anticipated start date is Fall 2019. Broadly, the responsibilities of the position are to support the development of the current and next generation of school leaders; and to serve the needs of the PSSC member districts, intermediate units and charter schools. The position is responsible for enhancing connections between Penn State, PSSC, and school systems in Pennsylvania; providing professional development opportunities for current school leaders; recruiting students for on-line and residential academic programs in Educational Leadership; assisting in developing and supporting the D.Ed. program for district practitioners; advising and supporting students in Educational Leadership certification programs; and administering PSSC programs and budgets. Required qualifications include evidence of an earned doctoral degree in Educational Leadership or a related field; and experience in educational leadership at the district level, as an education service agency leader, or other relevant leadership position.
