SUMMARY Responsible for collaboratively facilitating District efforts in the development of a cohesive and sustainable district system for Improvement, Priority Improvement, Turnaround and ESSA-identified school support. Will partner with existing district support structures and departments. This includes working with building leaders to build capacity with best practices for rapid school improvement and performance management, specifically in the areas of data collection, analysis, reflection, and action planning.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Research effective assessment practices and tools that support rapid school improvement.

Develop knowledge around district and school-based assessments for building leaders and TST.

Provide side by side professional learning for school-based leadership, as needed.

Partner with the Turnaround Support Team (TST), district, and school level leadership to gather and analyze data; develop and implement targeted professional development for school teams with a focus on strategic planning, funding, goal-setting, progress-monitoring, and alignment of the school's focus.

Assist the TST, Community Superintendents and school leaders in monitoring achievement, growth, and culture at schools to inform instructional decisions and reflect action steps in Performance Management Tool.

Disaggregate data to identify resistance and performance gaps in schools, and work to develop and implement actions to support school leaders and teachers, specifically in the subgroups and areas of: IEP, Graduation Rates, Free and Reduced Lunch, Ethnicity, ALP, etc.

Maintain records and prepare reports and correspondence related to the work in the TST supported schools.

Partners with the district Assessment Department.

Other duties as assigned.

EXPERIENCE A minimum of five years of successful teaching experience. Demonstrated adult collaboration, preferably through use of Cognitive Coaching and success in working with adult learners. Demonstrated classroom implementation of best practices and instructional strategies with an emphasis in the areas of reading, writing and math. Demonstrated knowledge of data analysis and data driven instructional planning. Demonstrated strong leadership skills, and ability to consult with and facilitate groups. Demonstrated knowledge and ability to use and integrate technology to provide quality instruction.

EDUCATION AND TRAINING Bachelor's Degree required in education or related field and 5 years' classroom experience. Master's Degree plus additional course work required for licensure preferred.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS Colorado Principal or Teacher License required, with an ESL Endorsement or similar preferred. Valid Colorado driver's license required for hire

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, & EQUIPMENT Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to use standard district technology effectively and efficiently for a variety of purposes. Disposition and desire to learn new technology. Ability to help others make sense of and adjust to change. Demonstrated flexibility and capacity for dealing with ambiguity. Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines. Willingness to work a flexible schedule, school day, and school year. Demonstrated ability in interpreting assessment data collected from a variety of sources. DECISION MAKING Decision making involves researching and designing appropriate assessment practices and tools for the District's Turnaround program. Requires knowledge of District and school policies/procedures and applicable state/local/federal laws. Errors could potentially result in substantial embarrassment and/or cost to the District.

COMMUNITY RELATIONS Daily contact with Community Superintendents and principals to support and implement rapid school improvement and performance management, specifically in the areas of data collection, analysis, reflection, and action planning.

SPAN OF CONTROL This position does not have any supervisory responsibility.

EDUCATIONAL DELIVERY Oversee the implementation of appropriate assessment practices and tools for the District's Turnaround program.

COMPLEXITY OF WORK Work is directed by the Director, Jeffco Turnaround Support Team . Requires a high degree of independent judgment and interpretation within the District, federal, and state policies, procedures, and laws that guide the induction program. Ability to implement national, state, and district initiatives. Requires adult facilitation skills; trained on coaching in order to support student learning.
