GENERAL RESPONSIBILITES

The Magnet Promotion Specialist will work with the district's Public Information Office to develop an ongoing advertising and recruiting plan for the Project EXPLORE schools and will oversee a comprehensive marketing and recruitment campaign. The Magnet Promotion Specialist will also manage the parent information line, departmental email and assist schools with recruitment activities.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Assists the Director of Magnet Programs and the Assistant Magnet Director with marketing, promoting the Project EXPLORE schools at the district levelWorks with MSAP principals and staff to market and recruit students for each programDevelops a marketing and recruitment campaign designed to interest large number of students in the district to apply for the new magnet programsAttends after-school recruitment events and activitiesAssists with the annual application periodsAssists with the annual Magnet Fair and other recruitment campaignsMarkets and set up in the spring recruitment activities for MSAP schoolsCoordinates promotional activities designed to attract significant numbers of student applications for magnet programs annuallyConducts ongoing interaction with media and newspapers to promote magnet programs;Conducts annual magnet fair in coordination with magnet building principals, site-based management teams and other district personnel;Performs other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

Applicant must possess a valid degree in marketing, accounting, business management or related fields. Experience is preferred.
