Our Team
The High School Team's purpose is to develop, champion, and support a defined point of view around excellent high schools that will enable our high school students to get to and through college. We also develop resources and provide implementation support that improve the academic rigor and sustainability of our high schools and regions.  As we partner with our regions, we identify and respond to network trends and needs to inform the Foundation's offerings and trainings.

Position Overview
KIPP Foundation is looking to hire an energetic leader to envision, develop and execute an approach for math and science curriculum and instruction that will drive achievement across KIPP High Schools. This person will be responsible for achieving and sustaining academic excellence and ensuring college readiness across math and science courses. As a key member of the High School Team, this person will roll out the forthcoming editions of Pre-AP and AP math and science curricula, develop and deliver trainings, and deliver a variety of implementation supports to ensure high quality math and science instruction across KIPP High Schools. 
The High School Math and Science Achievement Director reports to the High School Achievement Director and manages the Math and Science vision for High School along with associated curriculum, training, products and supports. He/she is a member of the High School Team and works collaboratively with KIPP Through College and Academic Teams among others in order to ensure a clear K-12 path for KIPP students.

Key Responsibilities and Duties
•Envision, develop, and execute on an instructional design for math and science to meet student outcome goals across KIPP High Schools in partnership with our Senior Director of Mathematics, STE Achievement Director, and the High School Team.
•Expand and publish Math and Science Pre-AP and AP courses to roll out to KIPP high schools as part of a network-wide "AP for All" initiative that will prepare students for success on both the ACT and AP Exams.
•Identify, recruit, contract, and manage a team of contributing partners, authors, editors, and other consultants (including coordinating permissions and maintaining contracts).
•Oversee publishing schedule and all stages of the editorial development process to ensure successful, on-time (and on-budget) launch of all curriculum products; ensure that curricular materials are aligned, rigorous, error free, user friendly, and cohesive
•Lead the network's math and science curriculum adoption across high schools
•Design, develop and deliver in person and virtual trainings to teachers and leaders in order to drive math and science gains across KIPP High Schools.
•Identify, recruit, contract, and manage a team of contributing partners, facilitators, and trainers
•Provide a variety of additional implementation supports between large trainings in order to support high quality execution, such as collaboratives, norming calls, and virtual coaching sessions
•Provide differentiated, targeted support and trainings to our regions such as regional or school-based professional development, train the trainer, and on the ground coaching and support 
•Work closely with the High School team to support on the ground implementation of curriculum products and application of trainings, including regular visits to school sites to work with teachers and leaders, keeping a thumb on the pulse of implementation, and regional and school-based needs.
•Deeply engage with our other math and science content experts, especially our Senior Director of Mathematics and STE Achievement Director, to ensure 12-K alignment with curricula and approach backwards planned from the college and career readiness bar as defined by AP and ACT/SAT.

Experience and Qualifications
•Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree strongly preferred
•A belief that all students should take and pass multiple AP courses while in High School
•Willing to travel (6-8 days per month) to work with a geographically distributed team and network of regions and schools.
•6+ years of work experience in high school education and/or educational publishing
•6+ years of teaching AP math and/or science with proven results
•Editorial experience with content development, preferably with AP materials
•Project management experience
•Facilitation and training experience
•Excellent written and oral communication skills
•Exceptional interpersonal skills and comfort working closely with teachers, school leaders, and senior leaders
•The preferred location of this role is near our New York, Chicago, San Francisco, or Washington DC offices.  However, exceptional candidates will be considered to work remotely. This is a full-time, exempt position.
