Gestalt Community Schools has an immediate opening for a MS English Teacher to join our team for the 2019-2020 school year!
Gestalt Community School teachers design weekly lessons plans, develop standards-based assessments, analyze assessment data, and create intervention plans to meet our scholars' needs. In addition, GCS teachers integrate technology effectively in the classrooms, and implement project-based learning. Responsibilities include:

Gestalt Community School teachers design weekly lessons plans, develop standards-based assessments, analyze assessment data, and create intervention plans to meet our scholars' needs. In addition, GCS teachers integrate technology effectively in the classrooms, and implement project-based learning. Responsibilities include:
- Creating lesson plans
- Teaching scholars a common core based curriculum;
- Integrating technology into lessons and plans;
- Motivating scholars towards achievement;
- Meeting with parents regarding performance and conduct;
- Developing scholar improvement plans;
- Working with special educators in a co-teaching model for students with IEP and 504 plans;
- Work planning with school and network teams;
- Attending weekly required professional development training;
- Create and review student assessments; and,
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Hold a current TN teaching license in English and/or have a middle school endorsement or the ability to secure a TN teaching license within 30 days of hire;
- Have bacherlor's degree or higher aligned to subject area certification;
- Has a proven track record of academic success as evident in TVAAS, state assessments, NWEA and value ad data (preferred);
- Hold the belief that all students can learn at high academic levels;
- Uses digital content, technology integration, and project-based learning in a highly efficient manner;
- Have the ability to work in an extended day environment;
- Has the ability to teach in an inclusion environment with a co-teacher (if applicable);
- Working knowledge of or ability to learn both the Mac and PC platform;
- Offers proven track record in the implementation of blended learning (preferred);
- Excellent communication and written skills; and,
- Team Player who is engaged and is confident in their ability to contribute to a dynamic academic team.
