    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
    *Possess a valid Colorado Teacher License with appropriate endorsement in the area you are teaching or obtain one prior to start. A Master's Degree or endorsement in Reading/Literacy desired.
    *Candidates with endorsements in CLDE, Bilingual Ed, Foreign Language, and/or sheltered content or other English Language instructional training desired
    *A minimum of three years successful teaching experience with a solid understanding and demonstrated application of research-based literacy instruction.
    *Training and knowledge in the area of instructional coaching.
    *Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a team.
    *Successful experience facilitating adult learning (staff development, team meetings, book studies, etc.).
    *Life-long learner that remains current around best practices in pedagogy and adult learning theory.
    *Demonstrated use of data for learning and modifying instruction to support increased student achievement.
    *Knowledge of Competency-based System (CBS), adapting learning for culturally and linguistically diverse learners.
    *Strength in content areas of Literacy and Math desired.
    *Must be able to read, write, and comprehend English.
    *Experience and skills in working with culturally diverse populations.

    JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
    *Provide training, coaching and instructional guidance at the secondary level on best practices in literacy instruction, including the five components of reading.
    *Assist secondary literacy teachers in best practices for students who are reading below grade level.
    *Work closely with building administrators to coordinate and implement the District and school focus on Competency-based Education through data collection and analysis, BLT meetings and Classroom Walkthroughs (CWT).
    *Train and support teachers in their use of CBS tools and practices for data drive instruction. Assist in interpreting data with teachers and teacher teams.
    *Implement best CBS practices in instruction through modeling, co-teaching and facilitating team learning.
    *Demonstrate and maintain productive and positive interpersonal skills with all stakeholders.
    *Utilize the Teaching and Learning cycle to support teams and individuals in data-driven instruction.
    *Facilitate groups and work with individuals to support district and school focus for 1st implementation of CBS.
    *Work with teachers and teams in a way that improves student learning – develop, set, and monitor goals for improving student achievement.
    *Support on an ongoing basis individuals, teams and district personnel to determine next steps in instruction and professional development.
    *Collaborate with teachers, principals and district administrators to foster the work of a purposeful learning community in a Competency-based System.
    *Utilize the coaching process to support teacher growth and reflection.
    *Manage time, schedules and multiple projects flexibly and in a way that maximizes teacher and student learning, including working a flexible work year.
    *Attend District instructional coach meetings, other meetings and District professional development opportunities as scheduled throughout the school year.
    *Submit required reports to building administrators and directors of Learning Services.
    *Mentor new teachers.
    *Provide feedback concerning professional development.
    *Be available to colleagues as a resource.
    *Display a thorough knowledge of the subject matter and the District's prescribed curriculum.
    *Plan instruction consistent with the District's curriculum for assigned subject areas/grade levels.
    *Plan for student differences and adjust instruction to meet student needs.
    *Implement continuous system of evaluations and provide students with specific feedback.
    *Serve as facilitator and coordinator of learning.
    *Establish an effective system for classroom discipline per Board Policy and building regulations.
    *Organize students for effective instruction to maximize the learning time for all students.
    *Fulfill contractual and professional responsibilities.
    *Submit required student record reports.
    *Demonstrate instructional skills by teaching group of students.
