Welcome to Essex Westford School District!
In 2017 three vibrant communities unified to provide enhanced and expanded educational options for all students, with the idea that we are better together. In the Essex Westford School District, we are designing opportunities that meet the unique needs of all our learners.

As one of the largest school districts in the state of Vermont, approximately 4,500 students from preschool through 12th grade walk through our doors each day, eager to take advantage of the resources provided by our supportive communities.

Every student is supported by highly qualified and caring educational leaders, educators, and staff who strive to make our schools a place where everyone belongs, feels safe, and is respected.

Learning happens here ... students are challenged by a rigorous, well-balanced, proficiency-based curriculum and supported by our dedicated teachers and staff, who believe in and are passionate about what they do.

Our staff are more than just employees, they are our neighbors as well. Nearly 50% of our staff live in one of the three communities that they support.
Job Requirements Reference Check Requirements - Candidates who pass the initial application screening will be sent an email with a link to enter your references: minimum of 3 total of which at least 2 must be from your most recent managers/supervisors. If you are a recent graduate, teachers, professors and instructors may qualify as manager references. This process should be completed within 24 hours of receiving the email. Once your references are entered, they will receive an email with the web link to complete the reference. Please be sure to gather the necessary contact information (contact phone number(s) and email address) for your references after you submit your application to avoid any unnecessary delays. It is also a good idea to contact your reference to let them know what to expect so they will watch for the web link via email.

Selected individuals shall also be subject to a VT Department of Motor Vehicle (DMV) check (if driving students), criminal records background checks, and child and adult abuse registry checks.
