DESCRIPTION
Develop and deliver professional development opportunities, resources or tools that support educational entities, including LIU personnel in the effective integration of educational technology. Products and services provided will focus on professional growth and development, consultation and coaching, student services and community partnership opportunities that are based on current and future customer needs.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  1. Develop and deliver a minimum of bi-weekly professional development opportunities in the area of technology, (resources or tools) that address the current and future needs of local internal and external stakeholders as evidenced by end of session evaluations to be completed by the participants.

    Provide the latest information to school leaders, district leaders and education staff regarding the effective integration of instructional technology tools, methods and processes that lead to student learning.

    Research, develop and distribute revenue-generating creative approaches and tools/resources on the local, state and/or national level as evidenced by evaluation of approach, tool or resource by multiple sources that have used the approach, tool or resource.

    Aid the staff/administration in school settings in regard to recommending and using computer software that is designed to collect and analyze data.

    Collaborate with divisional and organizational team members, which may include advising on initiatives or projects to assess, develop, deliver and evaluate professional development offerings, resources, products and support services regarding the effective use and integration of instructional technology.

    Annually seek, build and expand successful collaborative relationships with external agencies, organizations, institutions or businesses to develop, deliver and evaluate professional development offerings, resources/products and support services that meet the current and future needs of customers.

    Support, participate in and train job-alike networks about integration of technology as deemed necessary.

    Collaboratively design and implement a survey annually to evaluate internal and external customer service needs and overall satisfaction report of services delivered, and revise practices and products based on these results.

    Develop and deliver educational technology services related to statewide or national programs, grants, or initiatives that align with the mission of the LIU.

    Assume any other responsibilities as assigned by the Executive Director or his/her designee.

QUALIFICATIONS
Educational
  • Instructional Technology Specialist CertificationMaster's Degree in Education or a related area of education

Experience
  • Minimum of three years of teaching, training, or coaching experience, including significant experience in instructional technology integration and delivery of professional development

Additional qualifications
  • Strong customer services skills and the ability to communicate effectively both as a trainer and as a team member are necessary
  • The ability to effectively use digital presentation technology, manage work effectively and remain positive in a complex department with varied changing, service demands, and possess an understanding of marketing
  • Ability to plan, create and deliver professional learning events is necessary
