Job Description
Choir/Performing Arts Teacher: We are currently looking for a full-time Secondary Choir/Performing Arts Teacher for our Camden Academy Charter High School. Job Description:Choir/Performing Arts 1. Educational a. Commits to delivering the Camden Academy Charter School curriculum to all students equitably. b. Adheres to the Camden Academy Charter High School Staff Manual. c. Follows the 180 day plan for their grade level or subject level, and updates the plan annually to allow for data-driven improvements. d. Communicates knowledge to students in an interesting, stimulating, and effective manner. e. Assesses student achievement and develops plans to ensure student progress based on assessment data. f. Develops and maintains a stimulating and nurturing environment that meets student's individual and the class needs. g. Works with team partners or others as appropriate to develop curriculum that aligns with the Camden Academy Charter High School standards and the school's charter. h. Uses Direct Instruction approaches where required or recommended i. Supports standards-based instructional approaches that ensure the continuous progress of students desiring more challenge, including but not limited to high-ability and high-performance learners. j. Participates in team meetings and offers professional guidance and input k. Engages in professional communication that meets Camden Academy Charter High School communication policy. l. Utilizes data gathering and submits required reports in a timely manner. m. Implements curriculum and instruction in a manner consistent with this understanding. n. Shows empathy for and understanding of students. o. Prepare students adequately for all required assessments p. Develops with parents and students a cooperative partnership based on mutual respect and objectivity. Facilitates resolution of problems that may arise with students and parents. q. Works effectively with parent volunteers. 2. Professional Development a. Models and promotes positive interpersonal communication and problem-solving skills as outlined in Camden Academy Charter High School communication policy. b. Assumes responsibility for his/her professional growth which may include but not be limited to conferences, meetings, observation and in-service training driven by student needs and school objectives. c. Works as a team member, sharing common planning, professional development, curriculum design, educational experience and training. 3. Leadership a. Acts as a role model and resource for students and other staff members b. Demonstrates and encourage creativity and excellence c. Is willing to assume responsibilities outside of the classroom in order to achieve the needs of a small but growing school with limited resources d. Performs other duties, as deemed appropriate, by the Director EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS Successful candidates will:
  • Be energetic, enthusiastic and committed to student success
  • Have State of New Jersey Teaching License
  • Have minimum of 2 years of teaching experience
  • Be able to work well in a teamwork environment, including participation in a coaching model for teaching
Salary: $45,000-68,000per year
