Elementary Operations Administrator (Managerial E) [Eliot K-8] (SY19-20) With support from the Principal and Leadership Team, the Eliot Elementary Operations Administrator will be responsible for all non-instructional and financial functions for the Eliot School and the Friends of the Eliot, a related 501(c)3 organization. Alongside the Eliot's Executive Director, the Elementary Operations Administrator will be a senior leader at the school, responsible for the Eliot's day-to-day operations and organizational viability to support instructional success. Key Responsibilities Include: Strategic Planning
  • In collaboration with Executive Director, develop, communicate, and track progress for annual and multi-year goals and initiatives.
Governance
  • Serve as a contact and liaison to the Eliot School Innovation Board and the Friends of the Eliot.
  • Support all governance functions including, but not limited to, adherence to by-laws, production of all necessary documentation and reporting, developing an annual calendar, developing Board meeting agendas, scheduling, attending, and supporting Board meetings.

School Infrastructure Support
  • Serve as contact and liaison to all partners with the Eliot.
  • Work with the Executive Director to schedule initiatives and assessments across the school-year calendar.
  • Create and manage data warehouse that spans K1 - 8 for all content areas.
Finance
  • In collaboration with the Executive Director and Senior Director of Operations (SDO), develop and adhere to a multi-year financial model aligned with academic programs and initiatives and student enrollment.
  • Serve as liaison to Friends of the Eliot, overseeing and implementing fiscal policies and procedures, annual audit, budgeting, accounting, and deposits and invoices.
School Systems and Events
  • Oversee, monitor, and continuously improve all daily school systems for K-4 buildings, special events, and scheduling (e.g., arrival, master class schedule, coverages, transitions, dismissal, academic data, field trips, family events, etc.)
Human Resources
  • Manage human resource processes (e.g., recruitment, hiring, and documentation of arrival and absences) and coordinate all HR requirements with BPS Office of Human Capital.
Transportation
  • Oversee transportation and ensure compliance with BPS, state, and federal transportation guidelines, including the McKinney-Vento Homeless Education Assistance Act
Information Technology
  • Oversee IT and telecommunications procurement and service provision and ensure high quality IT customer service delivery to staff
Compliance and Reporting
  • Manage Innovation School renewals and DESE and BPS school visits
  • Oversee the school nutrition program, ensuring compliance with state and federal food service program regulations, and supporting school-based operations and their teams to ensure high-quality food service delivery
  • Maintain and update the Student & Family Handbook and Staff Handbook

Qualifications:
  • 5-10 years of work experience, preferably in education or non-profit management
  • Management/team leader experience
  • Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree in a relevant field preferred
  • Detail-oriented, analytical, and poised
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, communication, project management, and time-management skills
  • Proficiency in MS Office skills, particularly Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; capacity to learn relevant software and database applications

Salaries are listed by Unions and Grade/Step. NOTE: School-based managerial employees will work 223 days between July 1st and June 30th each year. The 223 day work-year will include the 180 days in which school is in session, and the additional days will be determined by the employee and the principal or headmaster of the school. This position subject to the City of Boston residency requirement. School-based managerial employees are not eligible for vacation time or compensatory time. In the event of school cancellation due to snow or inclement weather, school-based managerial employees need not report to work.
