Named one of the top public schools nationally by Newsweek, our community of 48,000 takes great pride in our 7 elementary, one 6th grade central, 2 middle, and 1 award-winning high school.  Supported by a $160M+ budget and a dedicated staff often the recipients of state and national awards, our 6,700 culturally and economically diverse pre-K-12 students are active in hundreds of extracurricular activities which include highly successful arts, academic, cultural, technology-related, and sports programs.

West Orange is committed to individualized education, maintaining one of the lowest, teacher-to-student ratios in the state.  Our comprehensive high school is the beacon of our school community.  Included in our offerings are 23 AP courses, 26 varsity sports, extensive STREAM and career/technical experiences, inclusive special education programs, and a pre-K to 21 autistic program. 

The Board is seeking a dynamic, visionary leader who sees our diversity as a strength, and has demonstrated successes in promoting student achievement and character, resource management, board effectiveness, stakeholder communications, and involvement in similar environments.

The final candidate must hold or immediately be eligible for a NJ Chief School Administrator Certification, and will be offered a highly competitive salary package commensurate with experience and state guidelines.
