Vice President , Proposals and Program Management

About this role ...

As the Vice President of Proposals and Program Management , you will be responsible for managing the business and services operations of the Proposals and Program Management team s . Your responsibilities include ensuring the organization seeks, assesses and responds to Requests for Proposals (RFP) and similar opportunities, as well as the overall management of the Program Management team , including contributing to the design of all delivery processes and workflow, monitor ing capacity, participating in or lead ing cross-organizational meetings, managing budget processes, and removing barriers to success for members of the team . You will have additional responsibilities for the recruitment, manage ment and development of direct reports and represent Proposals and Program Management in organization-wide initiatives.

In this role, you will work closely with the Executive Vice President of Partner Accounts and other decision-makers across the organization, in the creation, development, and e xecution of proposals and program management strategies and tactical plans that further the mission of NWEA. In addition, you wil l foster a team environment that is conducive to promot ing high quality program delivery . It is expected that you will have a leadership role in the organization demonstrated through active involvement in cross-functional initiatives .

Your next challenge...

  • Lead the RFP process from notification to delivery with the coordination of timelines, staff and resources. Direct the work of internal staff throughout the organization to meet strict response deadlines and coordinate response language
  • Work collaboratively with stakeholders across Partner Accounts and Finance to craft and strategize pricing to maximize NWEA's success ratio and drive revenue goals
  • Provide pr ogram po rtfolio oversight and guidance including profit and loss leadership in pa rtnership with Partner Accounts .
  • Collaboration with Partner Accounts and Product Management to establish aligned product and solutions priorities across the portfolio.
  • Coordinate with functional leaders to monitor and adjust proposals and program management needs across the organization.
  • Participate in and contribute to organizational strategic planning to maintain high quality business operations , service delivery, and enable future initiatives
  • D rive the business planning function for the Proposals and Program Management team s that addresses efficiencies , premium partner experience, and resourcing needs.
  • Serve as a point of escalation for proposals and program issues and risks for internal and external partnerships ; lead team in mitigation strategies and communicate potential risks and realized issues effectively
  • Drive program prioritization to ensure key milestones are met; provide input and leadership to cross-functional teams to ensure successful delivery of the program portfolio
  • Manage team budget s ; collaborate with other members of the t eam to ensure fiscal responsibility and stewardship across programs ; identify cost saving opportunities
  • Design and help implement the selection and development processes for team members ; contribute to ensuring that staff retention levels remain high and programs are staffed with consistency
  • Evaluate the annual performance of each team member based on individual and organizational goals
  • Develop, monitor and communicate progress towards metric s for programs and sustaining work
  • Represent Proposals and Program Management in cross team initiatives, including but not limited to leadership meetings; annual budget planning; financial planning; technology /operational solutions; and strategic roadmap
  • Maintain awareness of industry standards, trends and best practices in Proposals and Program Management service delivery and operations
  • Support integration efforts for newly developed and acquired products and services to build a Proposals and Program Management delivery approach in a scalable, efficient way
  • Perform other duties as assigned to ensure the success of the team and the entire organizatio n
  • Travel as needed to support strategic partnerships and other special projects

Education and e xperience

  • Master's degree preferred. E quivalent combinations of bachelor's degree from an accredited institution and 10+ years' experience will be considered in lieu of advanced degree
  • 10+ years related management experience with increasing levels of responsibility
  • Minimum of 10 years' experience with education, proposals, program management or the education industry
  • Minimum of 5 years ' experience leading large-scale educational systems and/or assessments preferred
