POSITION LOCATION : Vermont
Located at Saint Michael's College in Colchester, VT, Middlebury Interactive Languages Summer Academy offers middle and high school students the opportunity to study Arabic, Mandarin Chinese, French, German, or Spanish with skilled language educators in an intensive four week immersion environment.
The Spanish Language Academy Head is a school leadership position working in close consultation with the Director of Academics and the residential staff to develop and implement Academy programming. The role works closely with the academic team to develop cultural programming and also lead a team of residential advisors to create a unique immersion academic program outside of the classroom.

- Participates in pre-season interviewing and hiring utilizing methods, tools and processes provided while working collaboratively with full-time administrative staff;
- Maintains comprehensive knowledge and utilization of the Academy policies and procedures to create a safe, supportive, rewarding environment for students and staff;
- Supports the Director of Academics and provide pedagogical support to the residential staff by facilitating the integration of academic and residential aspects of the program;
- Acts as a master teacher for the residential staff in implementing the Summer Residential Academy Immersion Curriculum. /li>

- Works to continually maintain a high-quality summer Academy through interaction, participation, and visibility throughout the program;
- Plans all Academy-specific programming and collaborates with residential, administrative, and academic staff to ensure proper execution of these plans;
- Supports the Language Pledge;
- Communicates professionally and effectively to parents, students, and other staff;
- Provides efficient and pertinent orientation session for academic and residential staff;
- Demonstrates refined leadership and management skills in leading daily staff meetings and providing on-going training and support for residential staff.

MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- A minimum of five (5) experience as a world language educator and/or administrator with leadership OR
- Equivalent combination of education and experience

- This is a residential position. All employees will be provided room and board. They will have two full days off during the 4-week session. All employees pay for their travel to and from program locations. Transportation from local airport and train station is provided at both the beginning and the end of the program by MIL. Housing is not provided for family members.
