Required Experience or Training
Valid Illinois Professional Educators License with endorsement in content area

Master's Degree; Previous high school teaching experience POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES: INSTRUCTIONAL METHOD
  1. Teach utilizing best practices of mastery-based learning and the gradual release of responsibility instrutional methodsDesign coherent instruction that results in improved student achievement on the P/SATAssign and evaluate student work that leads to mastery of priority standardsInvolve students in learning using research-based differentiation practices and educational technologyMake effective use of entire class periodUse appropriate school support and resource materials toward improvement in students' social, emotional, academic and behavioral health outcomesConvey to students learning goals and the purpose of mastering material learnedBe clear in explanations and directionsProvide coherent instructional activitiesChallenge students within their zone of proximal development by using appropriate questioning and differentiation techniquesSpeak clearly, audibly, and fluentlyAdjust the teaching approach and pace to assure maximum student mastery of priority standardsProvide differentiated intervention and/or enrichment material, weeklyCommunicate high expectations for student performance
INSTRUCTIONAL PLANNING
  1. Establish a positive and safe, student-centered learning environment
