The Senior Director, Talent Management is responsible for recruiting, employer brand management, talent development, performance management, employee communications, diversity and inclusion. This role partners with the HR Leadership Team and Leaders across K12 to develop and execute programs that build and sustain a culture that supports our customers' needs. This role is focused on championing the employee experience across the company (from candidate through on-boarding to exit) to drive K12's strategy. You will lead by being a natural relationship builder through being curious and empathetic and by being an excellent listener and communicator. The goal is to create employee connection, spark engagement and create an experience that makes K12 the place to work for those wanting to transform the educational experience.
AS Senior Director, Talent Management, YOU WILL..
  • Partner with HR Business Partners, hiring managers and leadership to identify and develop innovative talent management strategies, identify gaps, and plan processes to support business objectives (i.e., growth, revenue, productivity, customer satisfaction).
  • Lead the team responsible for identifying and attracting top talent. This includes continually evaluating our recruitment and selection process and tools, recommending changes and implementing enhancements to ensure we deliver the highest quality candidates to our internal customers.
  • Develop a strategic diversity plan that ensures a diverse talent pipeline and supports business objectives, including college recruiting and employee resource groups.
  • Manage the employee onboarding process, continually evaluating to ensure a positive candidate and employee experience that allows employees to become productive quickly.
  • Manage talent development programs, systems, and processes to support the business. This includes designing and managing succession planning process to ensure talent pipeline depth to support business needs, maintaining database of talent information, partnering with HR Business Partners during the succession planning and talent review process, and overseeing strategies to accelerate development of key talent and successor candidates.
  • Own and oversee management and leadership development programs that align with long-range business strategies, as well as provide and manage other training and coaching needs.
  • Improve organizational effectiveness through the development and deployment of solutions to enhance leadership, improve productivity, and drive a performance culture
  • Manage HR to employee communication in ways that are meaningful, relevant, timely and memorable to employee audiences and aligns with K12's brand and business objectives.

Requirements
Minimum Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field required AND
  • Ten (10) years of HR Generalist experience AND
  • Five (5) years of talent management experience OR
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience

OTHER REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE , SKILLS, & ABILITIES:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proven ability to organize and lead a project to completion
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate sensitive and confidential matters effectively to all levels
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and to identify problems requiring escalation
  • Must be able to work evenings/weekends - as needed by management and client groups
  • Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel; Familiarity with Microsoft PowerPoint; Basic proficiency with UltiPro or other Human Resource Information Systems (HRIS); Web proficiency
  • Must be able to travel up to 25% of the time to client sites, for meetings, etc.
  • Ability to pass required background check
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Professional in Human Resources (PHR), or Senior PHR (SPHR) certification
  • Relevant development certification such as Meyers-Briggs Type Indicator
  • Experience in education or curriculum development organizations
