  • District 127 is in need of a Department Chair of Careers and Community Partnerships. Responsibilities include:
      Planning, developing, implementing, and monitoring the Career Pathways, Community Partnerships for Internships and the Career and Technical Education department
      Serves as liaison with the business/industry community to coordinate school-based instruction and work experience programs
      Establishes and implements internship opportunities for students. Provides opportunities for pupils to participate in after school, extended day, and out-of-school internships, competitions, and other work-based learning opportunities
      Assists in the development and implementation of secondary success initiatives, specifically in the area of career pathways
      Evaluates the community partnerships for internships program annually and makes recommendations for improvement to the Superintendent
      Promotes the District 127 CTE programs through outreach, marketing, and communications
      Serves on College of Lake County/Tech Campus committee
      Position develops curriculum, provides staff development, submits state and federal grants, and prepares/monitors the budget
      Assists with and promotes high-quality curriculum and instruction aligned to Standards including, but not limited to, helping to provide a coherent sequence of CTE courses that enable pupils to transition to postsecondary education programs that lead to a career pathway or attain employment upon graduation from high school
      Develops, implements, monitors and revises curriculum for CTE courses
      Oversees the district's CWT, Mobile Makers and PLTW Program implementation, advertisement, and development
      Supervises and evaluates CTE teachers and monitors instruction in CTE classrooms through school visits and classroom observations on a regular basis to ensure consistency of content and effectiveness of instructional delivery. Works collaboratively with building administrators during evaluation processes
      Prepares and monitors the division's CTE budget, including the Perkins and CTEI Grant
