Who we are and what the role is:

AVID is a mission-driven organization that works with over 6,400 schools and impacts over two million students. We’re focused on organizational excellence and having a larger impact through quality and effectiveness. As we grow, our business does the same, and this new role will be crucial in supporting that growth. This role will support many of our large initiatives, like our ERP and customer portal upgrades, both of which will have a significant impact on our business and partners. This role will help to gain a deep understanding of our business processes, document them, and ultimately look to assist in optimizing them. You’ll also assist in gathering functional requirements and validating that needs are met.

Who you are:

You’re a self-starter with at least six years’ experience as a business analyst supporting highly complex projects and teams with a proven track record of success. You can work with all levels of the organization alongside both highly technical and non-technical staff, translating the conversations and needs into functional requirements. We’re seeking someone with deep experience performing end-to-end analysis of business processes that stretch across the organization. You must be able to work in a dynamic environment performing many duties while focusing on our business processes and optimizations.

More about what you’ll be doing:

  • Gain in-depth understanding of our business processes and translate them into functional diagrams/documentation
  • Review assigned business processes from end-to-end to identify and address operational, financial, and technological risks
  • Proactively identify operational and system improvement opportunities
  • Drive business team members to define business needs through utilization of effective elicitation techniques
  • Work closely with business, technical, project management, data, and other teams

More of what we’re looking for:

  • Bachelor’s degree in information systems, business, or related fields
  • Must have a minimum of five years’ hands-on business analysis experience with at least one additional year in a lead/senior analyst role
  • Ideally, experience with Microsoft Office Suite, Visio, and Smartsheet
  • Comfortable facilitating workshops, presenting, and leading system walkthroughs and functionality reviews with stakeholders of varying seniority
  • Lead requirement review sessions with the project team to verify that requirements are valid, understood, and ready for development
  • Participate in requirements prioritization and facilitate the negotiation of requirements amongst multiple stakeholders
  • Demonstrated experience in process/mind mapping/modeling
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group, including executives, managers, and subject-matter experts

This full-time, exempt position receives a competitive salary, PTO and paid holidays, health benefits—including medical, dental, and vision options—16 hours of paid volunteer hours, an automatic 5% 403b contribution (after 90 days), performance pay opportunities up to 15% of previous year’s earnings, and the opportunity to be a part of an organization supporting students across the country!

All candidates must submit an application and include resume, cover letter and artifact reflecting similar work to be considered.
