Long-term First Grade Teacher (with potential for FT)

Hatikvah International Charter School is a public, secular K-8 program with an enrollment of approximately 500 students whose studies include partial immersion in Modern Hebrew language. Requirements:

The school is seeking a first grade teacher (long-term sub) to start during the last week of May 2019 until the end of school which is currently scheduled to be June 24, 2019.  This position has potential to become a full-time regular position by August 2019.  The school's preference is to hire one person for both positions, however applications for either May-June or August going forward will be considered.

Candidates need to have excellent oral and written communication skills; a sound knowledge of how to use data to drive instruction; strong skills in differentiation; and inquiry based approaches to learning. The candidate must have experience in collaborative planning and working successfully with a team of teachers. The job requires a "Can-do" attitude. 

Certification:   Must be certified to teach K-5 in the State of NJ.  The school will work with provisional certification status, but experience is preferred.

Duties:

Classroom teacher responsible for designing rigorous, standards-aligned instruction; parent communication; collaborative planning; formative and summative assessment aligned to standards; ability to differentiate instruction for learners; strong behavior management skills; strong organizational skills.
