Under supervision of the Assistant Superintendent, Department of Special Services, leads the development, management, assessment, and modification of a network of countywide PreK-12 intervention and prevention services, including nontraditional school programs, psychology services, social work services, and student safety and wellness services, and provides indirect supervision to school counseling services and alternative high schools. Collaborates with other departments, principals, and region office staff on the design and implementation of Pre-K-12 intervention and prevention services for students; leads development of intervention and prevention programs, projects and activities; directs the planning, implementation, and accountability of countywide professional development related to intervention and prevention; oversees the recruitment, screening, selection, assignment, supervision, and evaluation of office staff members; manages and allocates fiscal resources to support office priorities and initiatives; works closely with other FCPS offices and departments, state and local agencies and organizations, and institutions of higher learning; directs preparation of related responses to FCPS Leadership Team and School Board inquiries; and may serve as back-up for the assistant superintendent.

Qualifications:
Postgraduate Professional License with teaching endorsement(s) in special education with administration and supervision preK-12 endorsement OR with job-specific related credentials, plus seven years' progressive experience in teaching and/or administration and supervision OR related experience in intervention and prevention services. Knowledge of the principles, practices, methods, and current trends of school administration. Knowledge of applicable procedures and practices of the intervention and prevention office educational specialties. Ability to supervise and lead. Capacity to establish and maintain collaborative working relationships with school and department personnel and the public. Ability to manage fiscal, physical, and human resources to successfully carry out the function and programs of the office.
