Engineering & Architechural Design Instructor -10-Month Extended Teacher Calendar The candidate hired for this position must be endorsed and/or eligible to teach the following courses: Engineering Design/Architectural Design. Highly qualified candidates who have worked full-time in the industries of Engineering and Architecture for the minimum of five years are encouraged to apply for this position if interested in being considered for an interview for this teaching position.
Extensive knowledge and/or experience in the areas of engineering and architectural design is required. Applicants must currently hold or obtain vaild AutoCAD, Inventor, and Revit certifications.

Students enrolled in this program prepare for the AutoCAD, Inventor, and Revit certification assessments, as well as other pertinent industry certifications and assessments.

Qualified candidates must be endorsed to teach Trade & Industrial and/or Technology Education (formerly known as Industrial Arts), or be eligible for these licensure endorsements based on extensive "full-time" work experience in this field.

This is an instructional (teaching) position; therefore, the qualified candidate selecfted for the position will be required to meet the identified licensure requirements established by the Virginia Department of Education (VDOE).
Candidates falling within these guidelines may be eligible for a Virginia Teaching License by way of the "Experiential Learning Credit" method; therefore, an official (preferred) or unofficial transcripts is needed to verify degree(s) earned and the date of conferral.
Recognizing it will take some time to receive official transcripts from the Registrar's Office, we will accept unofficial copies at this time to be reviewed.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Under direction of the school principal, plan and provide for appropriate learning experiences for students. Provide an atmosphere and environment conducive to the intellectual, physical, social and emotional development of individuals to ensure success for every student. Supervise students in a variety of school related settings. Monitor and evaluate student outcomes. Communicate and interact with students, parents, staff and community. Develop, select and modify instructional plans and materials to meet the needs of all students. Maintain appropriate records and follows required procedures and practices. Monitor appropriate use and care of equipment, materials and facilities.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Knowledge of VBCPS curriculum and techniques for integrating curriculum, VBCPS policies and effective instructional practices; thorough understanding of the teaching and learning process; ability to provide instruction that reflects multiple perspectives and multicultural education; ability to infuse technology into curriculum; ability to work effectively with administrators, colleagues, central office, school based staff, students, parents and community; excellent oral and written communication and human relations skills.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's Degree in applicable field of education from an accredited college or university. Must have or be eligible for a teacher license from the Virginia Department of Education (VDOE). A comparable amount of training and experience may be substituted for the minimum qualifications. The VDOE will issue a Provisional Teaching License and also a Statement of Eligibility identifying all requirements that have been met, and any that will need to be met within the 3 YR Provisional License window.
