RESPONSIBILITIES :
  • Work collaboratively with the Senior Director and other administrators to develop and maintain high quality programs, services and procedures, which ensure that the educational needs of all adult students enrolled in Southern Westchester BOCES are identified and met.
  • Ensure compliance with the all applicable laws, regulations and policies governing adult education, including but not limited to: WIOA, NYSED and SWBOCES Board of Education Policies.
  • Lead, support and evaluate principals, supervisors, coordinators, instructional and classified employees in the distinct programs within the Center for Adult and Community Services:
    • Incarcerated Youth Program
    • Practical Nursing
    • Continuing Education
    • Adult Learning Center
  • Develop, implement and monitor the budget for the Center for Adult and Community Services.
  • Ensure that the Center for Adult and Community Services makes optimal use of all funding sources.
  • Serve as a resource to school districts and community agencies.
  • Foster communication and collaboration with and among other BOCES Centers.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Experience leading and supervising state and federally funded Adult Literacy and Continuing Education programs;
  • Prior administrative experience preferred;
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the components of a rigorous and high quality workforce development and training programs;
  • Knowledge of strategies for effective college and career planning;
  • Ability to communicate effectively, with excellent writing and public speaking skills;
  • Experience observing and evaluating staff to support and increase student achievement;
  • Documented experience in building strong professional relationships with school districts and local business, economic and workforce development agencies.
  • Must possess NYS Administrative Certification: SDA, SDL or SAS
