ABOUT THE SCHOOL/DEPARTMENT
Rooney Ranch is an elementary school located in Lakewood, Colorado. We are part of the Green Mountain Articulation Area in Jefferson County. We are home to 525 students in kindergarten through 5th grade. We are committed to providing authentic learning opportunities for students as aligned to the four Green Mountain Area Academies (Business and Global Studies/Health and Human Services/Arts, Humanities and Performing Arts/ STEM).
We are a collaborative, welcoming, and positive community that allows children to successfully learn and grow. Our staff is caring, engaged, and works together to guide our students toward academic success. We focus on the whole child as we work to meet their educational and social emotional needs.

Salary Plan, Grade, Step: JCE - Professional - 185 days, GR1, 1
Min-Mid Annual Salary Range: $40,989 - $57,654
RESPONSIBILITIES
SUMMARY: Responsible for instructing students in an elementary grades K-5. Creates lesson plans, instructs students on core subjects such as science, literature, and math, and creates a well-rounded, comprehensive instructional preparedness based on the District's Core Curriculum. Create instructional resources for use in the classroom.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Plan, prepare and deliver instructional activities.
Create positive educational climate for students to learn in.
Meet course and school-wide student performance goals.
Participate in ongoing training sessions.
Create lesson plans and modify accordingly throughout the year.
Grade papers and perform other administrative duties as needed.
Read and stay abreast of current topics in education.
Utilize various curriculum resources and technologies to enhance student learning.
Integrate competencies, goals, and objectives into lesson plans.
Utilize District curricula that reflect the diverse educational, cultural, and linguistic backgrounds of the students served.
Establish and communicate clear objectives for all learning activities.
Prepare and distribute parent communications.
Observe and evaluate student's performance.
Manage student behavior in the classroom creating appropriate behavior strategies.

The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. EDUCATION AND TRAINING Teacher must hold Colorado Teaching License and be Highly Qualified in Elementary through the PLACE, PRAXIS II, or approved out of state content exam or meet Elementary HOUSSE.
