ABOUT THE JOB

Salary Plan, Grade, Step: JCE - Professional - 185 days, GR1, 1
Min-Mid Annual Salary Range: $40,989 - $57,654

RESPONSIBILITIES

SUMMARY: Support and promote effective instructional practices in specific content area as well as develop appropriate curriculum.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Work with Educational Research and Design and Curriculum and Instruction in support of teachers, instructional coaches, and administrators in a variety of settings to improve teacher instruction that will ultimately increase student achievement.

Communicate and work collaboratively as a part of a team.

Participate in ongoing personal professional staff development experiences as a means of enhancing the instructional support provided to teachers.

Work collaboratively with other content area teachers on special assignment and with other central departments including Student Services and Assessment and Research.

Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's degree in specific content area as indicated. Masters' degree preferred. Valid Colorado teaching license. Most recent Performance Evaluation meeting or exceeding standards in all performance areas and overall performance. Understanding of the Colorado State Standards for specific content area.

EXPERIENCE: A minimum of five years successful teaching experience in the content area. Previous successful experience working with adult learners. Experience using a variety of assessment tools including best practices in the areas of classroom instruction, differentiation, assessments, and interventions. Demonstrated understanding of a PK-12 perspective for designated subject area. Experience effectively facilitating teacher professional development.

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, & EQUIPMENT: Excellent communication skills and positive interpersonal skills. Ability to manage multiple projects effectively and to meet deadlines. Willingness to implement national, state, and District initiatives. Knowledge of current research and issues in the area of curriculum and instruction. Knowledge of and experience with District's commitment to a guaranteed and viable curriculum including current work of the content team. Knowledge and ability to think flexibly and to adapt work to the needs of Educational Research and Design team, including the willingness to work a flexible scheduled work year. Demonstrated ability to consult with a variety of groups and individuals. Demonstrated ability to work flexibly on a collaborative team. Experience in working with adult learners. Demonstrated expertise in specific content area and best practices for all students ranging in abilities from special needs to accelerated learners. Demonstrated understanding of intervention process including the use of a variety of assessments and core, strategic and intensive strategies. Demonstrated leadership skills in the area of professional development including organizing and facilitating sessions. Knowledge and comfort with technology applications that support Jeffco curriculum.
