AS AN OPERATIONAL SUPPORT SPECIALIST , YOU WILL...

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS, DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The below State ments are intended to describe the general nature and scope of work being performed by this position.   • Word processing, data entry and other clerical tasks
  • Communicate with various team members to schedule meetings
  • Process the scheduling of live classroom sessions and student assignments to sessions and test sites
  • Process course creation, student course assignments, drops and withdrawals
  • Collect, maintain and manage various school records, both electronic and hard copy
  • Assist in compiling and submitting confidential records as needed
  • Respond to requests for support and escalate issues as appropriate
  • Other duties as assigned

Are you driven by excellence to deliver instruction, support and guidance, manage the learning process, and focus on students' individual needs? If selected, you will participate in a comprehensive new teacher training program for three weeks before the start of school. It is an opportunity to meet colleagues and learn the responsibilities required for delivering curriculum in an online environment. During this training you will also learn how to monitor student progress through K12's learning management system, and to be a partner actively working with students and parents to advance each child's learning. Minimum Required Qualifications


  • Reside in the State of California
  • Ability to support and guide adults, as well as students
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Organization and time-management skills
  • Excellent writing and grammar skills+
  • Proficiency in MS Excel, MS Word, and Outlook, PowerPoint and experience using them in a professional capa
    city
  • Self-directed but comfortable working as part of a team
  • Ability to travel at least 4 times per year and attend in-person training as scheduled
  • Experience in the education field is desired

  • Associate's degree (desired)

  • To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite; and experience using a student information system and/or other type of database software. Experience moderating web meetings (Blackboard Collaborate, Webinar, Webex) for small and large groups.

  • This position works at the Simi Valley office location. Must have ability to travel throughout the school year within and between assigned geographic areas to support students, attend regularly scheduled meetings, proctor State exams and participate in school activities and orientations.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to outdoor weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
