SECURITY COMMUNICATIONS OFFICER

Location: Transportation, NE Terminal

Work Year: T raditional 245 work days - AMLG/FMGR/GRND/PROTECH

FTE: 1.0

Salary Range: $17.99 - $21.49 per hour

Essential Functions and Objectives:

T he Security Communications Officer serves as the primary radio and telephone communications link between Security Department Personnel and those who are in need of or request assistance from the Denver Public Schools Department of Safety and Security. Monitors closed circuit cameras and intrusion and other electronic / technological systems. Receives emergency and non-emergency information regarding requests for assistance from schools or other DPS locations and transmits to security personnel. Performs emergency command center communications duties in the event of major incidents, accidents or other emergencies as needed that occur in the District or the City.

Knowledge, Experience, & Other Qualifications:

- E xperience with dispatch systems for a law enforcement or multitask security operation is strongly preferred.

- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint).

- Must be accurate in receiving and typing information from customers.

- Bilingual skills in Spanish and English preferred.

Education Requirements:

- High school diploma or equivalent.
