SUMMARY: The Assessment Specialist 3 provides expertise in a subject area's assessment strategy and creation. The Assessment Specialist 3 works closely with other Assessment Specialists as well as content specialists, writers, instructional designers, art directors and systems development to contribute to the structure and goals for the Company's assessment offering in that subject area, including development of assessment guidelines, development and review of assessment items and activities, alignment of assessment items to skills, and maintenance of skill lists. As a seasoned professional, he/she will recommend innovative solutions, manages aspects of overall assessment development, provides guidance and expertise, and provides direction to internal and external team members.

• Provides content knowledge in the subject area of his or her specialty
• Has deep familiarity with standards and interpretation of standards' intent
• Creates or consults on the creation of assessment items
• Reviews assessment items and activities for adherence to instructional goals and/or standards
• Reviews assessment items and activities for adherence to assessment development guidelines
• Creates assessment items and activities that adhere to instructional goals, standards, and assessment development guidelines
• Provides recommendations for assessment strategy within program development
• Researches, develops, and recommends innovative solutions for assessment development that includes knowledge of financial and strategic impact of solution
• Manages aspects of overall assessment development, including maintenance of assessment skills lists
• Provides guidance and expertise when interacting with other functional groups on cross-team development of products related to assessments
• Responds to feedback about the product.

Supervisory Responsibilities: This position has no formal supervisory responsibilities, though this position may be required to provide direction to internal and external team members.
Requirements
MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• Bachelors Degree(s) AND
• 5-7 years of experience in course or assessment development OR
• 5-7 years of experience teaching in a virtual or conventional classroom
• Equivalent combination of education and experience

Certificates and Licenses: None required.

OTHER REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• Familiarity with national and State standards in the field, and with current trends in methodology
• Familiarity with current research related to writing and calibrating assessment items
• Works independently and proactively escalates issues
• Exceptional writing skills
• Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Visio, etc.); Web proficiency.
• Stable broadband Internet access for creation and transmission of materials
• Willingness to learn new technologies and workflow systems including the Company's models for storyboards, activities, exercises, and assessments for online writing
• Ability to review and select material and assets from previously created Company courses
• Ability to work independently in fast-paced environment and demonstrate adaptability and flexibility
• Ability to collaborate and team effectively and provide leadership as needed
• Responsiveness to constructive feedback
• Positive and enthusiastic approach to solving problems
• Ability to meet all delivery deadlines specified by the Company
• Ability to pass required background check

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• Familiarity with pedagogy appropriate to variety of developmental levels, K-12
