1.0 Special Education Teacher - Short Term Substitute

1. NYS Certification in Special Education, SwD 7-12; dual certification in other 7-12 content area preferred
2. Familiarity with Common Core curriculum and NYS Standards in ELA, math, science, social studies and other content areas at the high school level
3. Ability to provide differentiated instruction to students at all levels
4. Ability to use authentic and traditional assessments to differentiate instruction and improve student achievement at all levels
5. Evidence of academic success at undergraduate and/or graduate level
6. Strong work ethic and commitment to school's mission and vision
7. Strong written and oral communication skills
8. Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
9. Evidence of positive class management skills

Duties: Includes co-teaching, self-contained, and tutorial/Resource Room settings; other responsibilities as per District needs
