TITLE: Head Site Supervisor

Job Description:
The Food and Nutrition Services Department will be sponsoring the City of Boston's Summer Food Services Program. The goal of the program is to provide nutritious meals to children who are attending various community centers and public/private agency summer programs in the City of Boston. The program will primarily operate Monday through Friday. However, there may be a few Saturday sites. Mandatory training will be provided.

Terms: Stipend Opportunity; $15.50 per h our, 2-4 hours a day, Regular workday (may vary depending upon site and the number of people assigned)

Reports to: Summer Field Monitors

Responsibilities: Individuals selected for these positions will be responsibile for:
  • Ordering, serving and accounting for meals given to children
  • Completing daily/weekly paperwork
  • Maintaining a clean site.

In addition, some individuals may be assigned to prepare and serve hot food in selected sites. All individuals hired are required to attend a mandatory training session and must commit to work the length of their assignment.

Must be willing to travel outside of neighborhood area. Assignments will vary from four to nine weeks (July 5, 2019 - August 30, 2019).

Currently employed BPS Food Service employees receive first preference for summer positions.

Dates: July 5, 2019 - August 30, 2019

Qualifications Required:
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Must be food safety certified
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Dependability
  • Resident of City of Boston, familiar with the City of Boston schools and neighborhoods
  • Basic math skills
  • Must have good attendance and good evaluations

Preferred:
  • Prior experience as summer food service sie supervisor
  • Recommendation by the Field Coordinator
