Positions Available
Assistant Site Supervisor
Job Description:
The Food and Nutrition Services Department will be sponsoring the City of Boston's Summer Food Services Program. The goal of the program is to provide nutritious meals to children who are attending various community centers and public/private agency summer programs in the City of Boston. The program will primarily operate Monday through Friday. However, there may be a few Saturday sites. Mandatory training will be provided.
Terms:
Stipend Opportunity, $13.00 per hour, 2-4 hours a day, Regular workday (may vary depending upon the site, and the number of people assigned).
Reports to: Summer Field Monitors
Responsibilities: Individuals selected for these positions will be responsible for:
Ordering, serving and accounting for meals given to children
Completing a daily/weekly paperwork
Maintaining a clean site.
In addition, some individuals may be assigned to prepare and serve hot food in selected sites. All individuals hire are required to attend a mandatory training session and commit to work the length of their assignment.
Must be willing to travel outside of neighborhood area. Assignments will vary from four to nine weeks (July 5, 2019 - August 9, 2019
Currently employed BPS Food Service employees receive first preference for summer positions.

Qualifications Required:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Must be food safety certified
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Dependability
- Resident of City of Boston; familiar with City of Boston schools and neighborhoods
- Basic math skills
- Must have good attendance and good evaluations
Preferred:
- Prior experience as a summer food service site supervisor
- Recommendation by Field Coordinator
