    Qualifications:
    • Master's degree in administration from an accredited college/university
    • Secondary teaching and leadership preferred
    • Current Kansas teaching license with leadership endorsement
    • Minimum of 5 years administrative leadership experience at the district and/or building level
    • Desire to continue career improvement
    • Ability to work effectively and cooperatively with people
    • Ability to analyze data to make decisions
    • Good verbal and written skills
    • Health certificate on file in Devin Center
    • Current, valid Kansas driver's license


    Reports To: Associate Superintendent for Teaching & Learning

    BASIC PURPOSE:

    The Exec. Director of Student Support Services provides professional leadership in program services including

    coordination of all at-risk and Title programs, formulating school policies and procedures, resolving parent and

    student concerns. In addition, the Director of Student Support Services supervises and leads

    coordination and collaboration with other organizations and agencies.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
    • Serves on Superintendent Advisory Council
    • Facilitate and mediate parent, student and school concerns
    • Coordinates all at-risk programs, reports, budgets and program evaluation
    • Coordinates Title programs reports and budgets and program evaluation
    • Ensure that all activities conform to district policies and guidelines
    • Oversee 504 plans
    • Oversee the discipline plans in the district
    • Communicate effectively with all members of the school district and community
    • Maintain records and provide data related to areas of supervision
    • Work effectively with community organizations and agencies
    • React to change efficiently and productively
    • Support the philosophy and mission of USD 475
    • Make periodic reports to other administrators and to the Board of Education

    DESIRED SKILLS:
    • Faculty or instructional development leadership.
    • Demonstrated understanding of best practices in technology applications in education, including delivery modalities, technology tools, and assessment.
    • Demonstrated understanding of best practices in mathematics and science.
    • Demonstrated ability to build strong working relationships across multiple cross-functional groups.
    • Demonstrated strong communication and persuasive abilities, including verbal, written and presentation skills, with an emphasis on contacts with teachers, administrators and community organizations.
    • Previous administrative or leadership experience in curricular areas.

    PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES
    • Maintains accurate records pertaining to 504s and the implementation of plans
    • Responsible for selected policy development and revisions
    • Assist principals in formulating, interpreting, implementing and observing district policies concerning pupil attendance, exclusions, suspension and expulsion.
    • Formulate school procedures
    • Responsible for student enrollment procedures
    • Serve as consultant to principals, parents or others in cases involving special problems in pupil adjustment, pupil placement and other parental or staff guidance referrals
    • Act as a liaison among school personnel in the district
    • Provide training for staff working with at-risk students.
    • Provide institutional guidance to all administrators
    • Assists the schools with implementation of safe and civil schools programs
    • Other duties as assigned by the Superintendent of Schools or his/her designee

    Term of Employment: 12 Months

    Salary Range: Commensurate with qualifications and experience

    Evaluation Frequency: Job performance will be evaluated a minimum of 1 time per year.
