POSITION SUMMARY:
The Assistant Director (IT PMO) researches and implements all district level educational and training needs, i.e. Day One, Target 2021, etc. The Assistant Director will also be responsible for maintaining PMI Global Education Provider status. The Assistant Director will be responsible for establishing and collecting measurable data on critical projects, facilitating the periodic review of critical projects and assist the Program Director (IT PMO) in developing and enforcing standards for the project management life cycle and providing accurate reporting via portfolio dashboards. Other duties include assisting the Program Director (IT PMO) with oversight in the management of multiple complex projects and assist with maintaining a clear portfolio of initiatives that are aligned with APS's and the department objectives. This position reports to the Program Director (IT PMO).
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
  1. Provides strong leadership in the training of project management training courses.
  2. Oversees district level projects.
  3. Remains abreast of developments and best practices in the project management discipline and builds relationships with external providers and industry experts to bring the most current thinking to the district.
  4. Monitors the progress of all IT projects and facilitates proper project reviews at established project toll gates.
  5. Assists in building and maintaining relationships with customers (users), vendors, and stakeholders.
  6. Recommends enhancements or changes to the project management methodology to provide further improvement and efficiencies.
  7. Assists in collecting status of portfolios to create portfolio reports.
  8. Assists in ensuring the integrity and quality of projects by monitoring the use of proper project management methodology on critical projects.
  9. Enhances project management training materials to deliver engaging training sessions.
  10. Perform other duties as assigned by appropriate administrator.

Requirements: EDUCATION:

Bachelor?s degree in Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Science, or related discipline required.

CERTIFICATION/LICENSE:

Project Management Professional Certification (PMP) preferred.

WORK EXPERIENCE:

Five (5) years of experience in Project Management required
Experience in K-12 education preferred

Compensation: SALARY GRADE: 133

SALARY RANGE: $75, 953 to $104, 154

WORK DAYS: 254 Days (Annual)

FLSA Status: Exempt
