The Recruiting Manager is responsible for identifying and attracting top talent for all APS positions by coordinating and implementing recruitment, retention and employment programs to ensure low turnover and availability of qualified applicants to meet District operating needs. The ideal candidate will possess the ability to identify top-level talent through a variety of sourcing/recruiting techniques and will proactively source passive candidates using internal/external networking, university partnerships and a variety of current social media strategies. This is a highly visible position that requires the ability to develop and maintain positive working relationships with internal and external clients.
  1. Play a key leadership role in the delivery, execution, and assessment of recruitment initiatives that enable the acquisition of top talent for all APS positions
  2. Collaborate closely with the talent management team to design and manage the implementation of talent identification strategies, while ensuring alignment with strategic plan objectives.
  3. Oversee the student teacher program.
  4. Oversee the efforts to market the Atlanta Public Schools.
  5. Work with the HR Training & Communications Specialist and the Communications Department at APS to develop internal and external branding for programs, rollout programs, initiatives, and communications to stakeholders.
  6. Create and maintain annual recruiting plans to ensure the District is hiring the best possible talent for both current and future roles. Serve as talent acquisition subject matter expert through full cycle recruitment along with the development and implementation of comprehensive recruitment plans. Build and execute talent strategies that strengthen our recruiting culture and candidate experience.
  7. Manage effective delivery of cycle recruitment and selection services including: on-going communication with hiring managers through the recruitment process; sourcing candidates, interviewing, and assessing candidates.
  8. Identify, train, and build capacity of internal staff to assist with recruiting events and online interviews; including, managment and oversight of the Teacher Recruitment Ambassadors program.
  9. Work closely with talent management team to continuously improve procedures, systems, and policies related to recruitment and retention.
  10. Set activity and recruitment goals for talent management, provide accountability structure and key performance indicators, such as time-to-fill and teacher effectiveness measures, to ensure transparency and success.
  11. Meet regularly with all stakeholders to ensure alignment with district talent strategies and success measures. Develop collaborative relationships with peers, subordinates and leadership in order to facilitate open, constructive communication.
  12. Develop and implement a search strategy to identify active and source passive candidates.
  13. Develop and implement the strategy for campus and experienced recruitment advertising & postings that utilizes the latest recruitment marketing concepts including search engine optimization.
  14. Collaborate with hiring managers to develop a strong understanding of department culture, organizational strategy, and talent profiles to deliver on the hiring needs of the schools/departments.
  15. Conduct in-depth screens and assess potential candidates for level of interest, qualifications, compensation requirements and convert hard-to-find passive talent through an understanding of the district.
  16. Use innovative sourcing and marketing/branding techniques to engage both active and passive candidates.
  17. Develop a schedule and represent the District for recruiting purposes at identified networking and industry events, job fairs, conferences, etc.
  18. Stay apprised of all laws and regulations within the appropriate jurisdictions as they relate to recruitment and selection.
  19. Partner with the IT function to implement desired technological changes and upgrades, which affect recruitment and selection activities.
  20. Troubleshoots and provides customer service to applicants and hiring managers for applicant tracking system support.

WORK EXPERIENCE: Minimum of 5 years of professional level experience in human resources or K-12 education; Previous experience with K-12 recruiting, university partnerships and/or teacher quality preferred

Compensation: Pay Grade: Pay Grade 133 - 252 Days
Pay Range: $75, 953.00 up to $104, 154.00
Work Year: Annual Duty (252 Days)
