POSITION SUMMARY
• The Teacher for Gifted and Talented will utilize current strategies and theories to plan, organize and implement instructional strategies for gifted and talented students.
• Serves as an integral component of curriculum design, student information verification and talent development of gifted students and will support the professional development of gifted and talented teachers.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
• Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing and collaboratively with others in project planning and delivery.
• Excellent presentation, organizational, oral and written skills.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
• Instruct students through lectures, discussions, visual aids, and other effective teaching methods for student comprehension and will work in collaboration with teachers to ensure talent development strategies are created and implemented for high able learners.
• Prepares lessons and outlines to use in class that effectively cover the material through content-pedagogy professional development, coaching, peer collaboration, classroom visits, model lesson demonstrations, preparation on lessons.
• Coordinates and conducts professional development opportunities for gifted teachers on implementing standardsbased curriculum, integration of technology, gifted pedagogy, authentic assessments and administers various types of assessments to monitor student's comprehension of the material.
• Serves as a support to the referral and identification process of gifted students and works in collaboration with teachers and clerks/registrars to ensure accuracy of students' information coding and tagging for funding purposes.
• Attends faculty meetings and training sessions.
• Administer and/or support the state and local standardized testing processes and policies.
• Conducts other duties assigned by the Gifted and Talented Coordinator.
• Performs other duties as assigned by the appropriate administrator.
• Required to attend scheduled shift during regular business hours as mandated.
Requirements : MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS EDUCATION:
? Bachelor's required.
? Master?s, Specialist, Doctorate degree preferred.
CERTIFICATION/LICENSE:
? Minimum T4 Georgia Certification in Early Childhood required with gifted endorsement (infield, subject specific, or P-12 consultative).
WORK EXPERIENCE:
? 3 years successful experience teaching gifted students required.
Compensation : Salary Grade:T4-T7
Salary Range: $46, 460 to $91, 688
