Position Overview
The KIPP Foundation Marketing team aims to support KIPP's growth and expand KIPP's impact by increasing awareness of our schools and amplifying the stories and voices of our families, staff, alumni and community members. The Marketing team facilitates KIPP regional recruiters' ability to meet their goals and enables Foundation teams to deliver and promote programmatic offerings to our network of schools.
The Digital Marketing Director owns the vision for awareness building, working closely with colleagues from across the KIPP network to plan, build, and execute on campaigns to support student and talent recruitment. Outside of these campaigns, the Digital Marketing Director will support the Marketing team's broader efforts to improve KIPP's national brand, strengthen the power of the alumni network, and increase the capacity of our regional marketing and communications teams through training, tools, and collaboration.
 
The Digital Marketing Director will report to the Senior Marketing Director. The Digital Marketing Director will be responsible for hiring and managing a Digital Marketing Manager to support the execution of work below and will work collaboratively with teams across KIPP, including Communications, Public Policy, Alumni Engagement, KIPP Through College, IT, and the Office of the CEO.
 
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
Generate demand and drive online conversions (student and talent applicants) through targeted, region-aligned student and talent recruitment campaigns.
• Design and lead a comprehensive effort to better understand our target audiences and build audience personas across markets.
• In collaboration with the Communications team:
- Refine national messaging aligned to market research findings, and incorporate in all campaign materials
- Build out plan for website, editorial, and social media content that support campaigns and reinforce key messages
- Improve website SEO to reach our target audiences
• In collaboration with the IT team:
- Prioritize website development updates aligned to campaign timing and need
- Ensure KIPP Foundation and KIPP regions have the systems in place to measure the impact of campaign activities
• Build and execute on national advertising strategy and provide recommendations for local market spend and impact measurement.
• Design and execute on lead-nurturing and brand building email campaigns.
• Regularly measure and report on the impact of campaigns and opportunities for improvement.

Improve national brand alignment and consistency of KIPP's online presence. 
• Oversee content strategy on KIPP.org and work with Communications Team to prioritize content updates and development needs.
• Identify and share best practices and recommendations for regional website content and management.

Support the digital marketing needs of other Foundation and Regional teams:
• Strengthen the power of the alumni network and activate KIPP brand ambassadors by supporting the design and execution of alumni engagement campaigns.
• Increase the capacity of network marketing and communications teams by sharing best practices and providing thought partnership.
• Oversee the building and management of custom landing pages for priority initiatives across the Foundation.
• Provide email marketing consultative support to Foundation teams. 
• Support additional marketing projects and initiatives as needed.

Experience and Qualifications
• A deep belief in every child's ability to learn and succeed in college and career
• Bachelors or equivalent experience required
• 6+ years of experience working in marketing, developing and delivering digital content, and/or designing digital campaigns
• Experience in media planning and measuring the impact of digital campaigns
• Passion for user-centered design, with experience translating user needs into requirements and/or products
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Robust project management skills
• Experience in people management and working collaboratively across teams
• Comfort and experience with the following tools is preferred: WordPress, Emma or equivalent email marketing platform, and Google Analytics
• Basic HTML editing skills
• New York and Washington, DC preferred (For exceptional candidates may consider: San Francisco, Chicago)
• A willingness and ability to travel (~20%)
• This is a full-time, exempt role.
